Each year, the conversation about when it’s okay to start celebrating Christmas gets more and more contentious. Most people insist you shouldn’t start until after Thanksgiving, but some are more than willing to kick off the holiday season the day after Halloween. To each their own, but the 2010 Hallmark Hall of Fame tearjerker November Christmas tells a story about an early holiday celebration for a heartbreaking reason. In a small Rhode Island town, Tom (John Corbett) and Beth (Sarah Paulson) fear that their eight-year-old daughter might not live through Christmas.
Vanessa (Emily Alyn Lind) suffers from a life-threatening illness, causing concern from her parents that she won’t have the chance to experience the magic of what could be her final Christmas. In order to bring a little happiness to an emotional situation, their community comes together to plan early celebrations of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas for Vanessa. The film premiered on CBS as a Hallmark Hall of Fame selection in November 2010 and undoubtedly left its entire audience inspired but in tears. November Christmas makes a great case for soaking up all the holiday spirit you can.
