Best Christmas movies set in each state

HOME ALONE - Eight year old Kevin MacAllister (Macaulay Culkin) gets lost in the shuffle as his large, upper-middle class suburban family rushes to make a plane that will ferry them off to their Christmas vacation in France; Kevin, having been banished to an attic room as punishment, is subsequently forgotten. At first this is a dream come true, as for the first time in his young life he has no one to answer to but himself, and he takes full advantage of his newfound freedom, eating junk food and watching late-night horror flicks. But when the bumbling Wet Bandits Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) target his house for a robbery, Kevin must step up to defend his home; he sets a maze of booby traps so elaborate that only an eight year old imagination could concoct them. If you’re a Hallmark Christmas movie fanatic, then you’re well aware that there are a handful of heavy hitters that consistently turn up in new flicks each year. Candace Cameron Bure, Lacey Chabert, Holly Robinson Peete… But someone who doesn’t get mainstream recognition on the same level is Alicia Witt, who has starred in her fair share of Hallmark seasonal favorite. In 2016’s Christmas List, which was based on the book The Christmas Bucket List by Ella Fairlie, Witt stars as Isobel Gray, who plans a storybook holiday in Oregon based on her childhood bucket list.

Unfortunately, Isobel’s boyfriend Brett (Peter Benson) goes away on a business trip, and she’s left to put the pieces of Christmas together on her own. Along with the help of local builder Jamie (Gabriel Hogan), Isobel works on the bucket list full of holiday traditions and learns the true meaning of Christmas… quite possibly love. Christmas List serves up another slice of cozy holiday goodness from Hallmark with a tried-and-true veteran of the network in tow. Although more than likely not filmed in Oregon, it’s a nod to the northwest we don’t often see in Christmas movies.
