Best Christmas movies set in each state

HOME ALONE - Eight year old Kevin MacAllister (Macaulay Culkin) gets lost in the shuffle as his large, upper-middle class suburban family rushes to make a plane that will ferry them off to their Christmas vacation in France; Kevin, having been banished to an attic room as punishment, is subsequently forgotten. At first this is a dream come true, as for the first time in his young life he has no one to answer to but himself, and he takes full advantage of his newfound freedom, eating junk food and watching late-night horror flicks. But when the bumbling Wet Bandits Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) target his house for a robbery, Kevin must step up to defend his home; he sets a maze of booby traps so elaborate that only an eight year old imagination could concoct them. Not only is Blake Shelton a country music superstar and a television personality on NBC’s The Voice (alongside fiancée Gwen Stefani), but he’s also lending his creative eye to Hallmark Christmas movies. Honoring his home state of Oklahoma, Shelton executive produced 2018’s Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas, as well as its similarly titled follow-ups. Megan Park stars as Cara Hill, who’s still mourning the loss of her mother and faces a difficult Christmas holiday home in Oklahoma. However, when she meets country music star Heath Sawyer (Josh Henderson), their bond could change both of their holidays.

Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas follows Cara and Heath as they both attempt to make it to their Christmas celebrations in the face of mutual parental grief and tumultuous weather. Heath’s fame, too, poses a threat to their relationship as two worlds collide into one. Shelton also executive produced 2019’s Time for You to Come Home for Christmas and 2020’s Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas. All three Hallmark movies will warm your heart with stories of love and connection around what can be a tough time of year. Play Shelton’s song of the same name, read the book written by his mother and watch the movie set in his home state of Oklahoma.
