Best Christmas movies set in each state

HOME ALONE - Eight year old Kevin MacAllister (Macaulay Culkin) gets lost in the shuffle as his large, upper-middle class suburban family rushes to make a plane that will ferry them off to their Christmas vacation in France; Kevin, having been banished to an attic room as punishment, is subsequently forgotten. At first this is a dream come true, as for the first time in his young life he has no one to answer to but himself, and he takes full advantage of his newfound freedom, eating junk food and watching late-night horror flicks. But when the bumbling Wet Bandits Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) target his house for a robbery, Kevin must step up to defend his home; he sets a maze of booby traps so elaborate that only an eight year old imagination could concoct them. In the past few years, Netflix has gotten in the original Christmas movie game, and we have to give them credit for bringing some inventive holiday rom-coms to the table. For the most part, Netflix’s original Christmas movie collection stays in the similar lane of Hallmark and Lifetime, but imagine our surprise when The Knight Before Christmas featured time travel. Vanessa Hudgens stars as small-town Ohio high school science teacher Brooke Winters, who has all but lost hope on finding her “happily ever after” love story until she runs into (literally) Cole (Josh Whitehouse).

Cole, a medieval knight, has been transported to present-day Ohio from the 14th century, but Brooke believes he’s suffering from amnesia. Naturally, she takes him in until his memory returns, though she’ll soon discover Cole just might be the knight in shining armor (again, literally) she has been waiting for. The Knight Before Christmas garnered mostly positive reception from critics, holding a 70% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film marked the latest Netflix Christmas hit for Hudgens, who also stars in The Princess Switch and its sequel.
