Best Christmas movies set in each state

HOME ALONE - Eight year old Kevin MacAllister (Macaulay Culkin) gets lost in the shuffle as his large, upper-middle class suburban family rushes to make a plane that will ferry them off to their Christmas vacation in France; Kevin, having been banished to an attic room as punishment, is subsequently forgotten. At first this is a dream come true, as for the first time in his young life he has no one to answer to but himself, and he takes full advantage of his newfound freedom, eating junk food and watching late-night horror flicks. But when the bumbling Wet Bandits Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) target his house for a robbery, Kevin must step up to defend his home; he sets a maze of booby traps so elaborate that only an eight year old imagination could concoct them. Not unlike our previous selection, the road trip comedy I’ll Be Home for Christmas (which was coincidentally also directed by Arlene Sanford), the Disney Channel Original Movie Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas! finds a familiar family separated on the road. The first Christmas-themed DCOM since 2001’s ‘Twas the Night, the spin-off film of the hit series Good Luck Charlie follows the Duncan family on their road trip to Palm Springs, California for Christmas. Unfortunately, Teddy (Bridgit Mendler) and Amy (Leigh-Allyn Baker) get separated and attempt to hitchhike their way to California to join their family in time for Christmas.

While experiencing travel issues, Teddy and her mom have an unforgettable stop in Las Vegas, Nevada, where they sing Christmas carols in order to make money for dinner. Because when it rains it pours, things only get harder for the Duncans as they struggle to come together for the holidays. Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas! featured an original Christmas song by Mendler and earned 6.9 million viewers, one of the highest-rated of the year. Maybe you aged out of the Disney Channel before Good Luck Charlie, but for some, this one’s a welcome holiday throwback.
