What should happen with Mel in Virgin River season 2?

That’s a good question. If this were a different show, I think I’d want Mel to move on with her life and start over again somewhere new and a little bigger than Virgin River. There are more Jacks in the world; she just has to find them.

This is Virgin River, though, and I think we all know Mel should stick around and work things out with Jack. Clearly, the town needs her, Doc needs her, and Jack needs her. And, I think she needs the town and everybody there.

While Mel reacted quite strongly to the news about Charmaine’s baby, she is smart and logical. She should realize that she can make a difference in Jack’s life and in his child’s life. And, they can make a difference in her life.

If all goes well, Mel will likely leave Virgin River and then realize how much she misses Jack and everyone there. Then, she’ll make a triumphant return, work things out slowly with Jack, and then settle in by the season’s end.

We need a good will they/won’t they relationship on Netflix, and Jack and Mel is the best we’ve got this holiday season.

That’s what should happen, but it’s unclear if that’s the direction this little, small-town show will go in season 2.
