Netflix adds 23 new movies and shows this week

Another week is here (we made it!) and that means a bunch of new movies and shows are coming to Netflix. Whether you’re looking for a new season of a popular Netflix Original, a sequel to a Netflix Christmas movie, or a dramatic biopic based on a true story, the streaming service has a little something for everyone this week.

Season 4 of The Crown is coming to Netflix Sunday, Nov. 15. Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzie are back as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, respectively. Fans can also look forward to seeing Gillian Anderson as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and of course, this is the season Princess Diana (played by Emma Corrin) is introduced. Diana and Charles’s wedding will be featured as will the war in the Falklands.

More in the mood for a holiday movie? The Princess Switch: Switched Again hits Netflix on Thursday, Nov. 19. This is the sequel to the very popular The Princess Switch and brings back Vanessa Hudgens as both Duchess Margaret and Stacy De Novo. Sam Palladio and Nick Sagar are also back as Edward and Kevin, respectively.

The sequel follows Stacy as she helps out Duchess Margaret after she hits a rough patch with Kevin and inherits the throne to Montenaro. But there is also a new woman in town who looks strikingly similar to Margaret and Stacy. I cannot wait to watch this!

If you’re looking for a romantic drama, you definitely need to check out Loving when it comes to Netflix on Monday, Nov. 16. The film stars Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton and follows the true story of Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple who are arrested because of their marriage. They go on to sue the state of Virginia for their right to be married and that leads to the 1967 Supreme Court decision that makes banning interracial marriage illegal.
