Dash and Lily ending explained: Do Dash and Lily end up together?
By Bryce Olin
What happened at the end of Dash and Lily?
Dash and Lily is the best new Netflix original. The holiday series premiered on Tuesday, Nov. 10, and fans are already binge-watching all eight episodes of Dash and Lily on Netflix.
Now that Dash and Lily is over, it’s time to talk about the ending of the series.
Dash and Lily comes to an end at the place where it all began: The Strand bookstore in New York City.
After Lily (Midori Francis) and her family decide to move from New York City to Fiji, Lily jumps out of the cab on the way to the airport. She goes to The Strand, where Dash (Austin Abrams) is waiting for her.
Of course, this is all after Dash and Lily meet at the party without knowing they are the person they’ve been communicating with through the book. They hit it off, but Dash leaves the party with his old girlfriend.
While she wants to get together with Dash, Dash doesn’t feel the same way. Lily thinks that Dash is getting back with his girlfriend and gets way too drunk at the bar. She gets in a fight with Dash after she kisses Edgar (Glenn McCuen). Dash sees, and they each leave with broken hearts.
Dash has basically ruined his relationship with Boomer (Dante Brown). He makes up for it by going to a Jonas Brothers concert. Then, Dash’s friends try to help him win over Lily at The Strand.
They don’t know she’s leaving the country that night. While Dash sweats it out at the bookstore, Lily eventually changes her mind and hops out of the cab.
She finds Dash waiting for her at the bookstore. They share a kiss and make up. Then, they realize they are locked in The Strand for the night.
The season ends with Dash and Lily spending the night together locked in The Strand.
We later see Boomer and Dash’s ex-girlfriend holding hands. What?!
Do Dash and Lily end up together?
We don’t really know. I’m sure fans of the books know, but we’re not readers of the books, and I don’t really feel like spoiling the series or ending for fans who aren’t going to read the books.
I will say that it appears that Dash and Lily are together. We don’t know if she will actually go to Fiji, but it will be interesting to see if, after missing the flight, her grandpa lets her stay. I hope so, because, you know, young love! But, who knows?
I have other questions, too. Did her parents just leave the country without her? Are they worried about her? We don’t know, but I would assume.
There’s so much to unpack from this ending, but I think that the ending opens the door for, at the very least, a long-distance relationship.
Hopefully, we’ll get to see Dash and Lily season 2!
