What is Dash and Lily on Netflix about?
Netflix has been cranking out many great romantic comedies this year. Next up is Dash and Lily, a new Christmas-themed rom-com based on a young adult book series.
Dash and Lily will arrive on Netflix at 12:01 a.m. PT on Tuesday, Nov. 10. You can stay up late on Monday night and watch the series when it’s available to stream.
Dash and Lily starts with a red notebook that Lily (Midori Francis) leaves in a book store, and it is found by Dash (Austin Abrams). In the notebook, Lily, who is an optimist, leaves a dare for the notebook’s finder. Dash, a cynic, finds it and the two begin passing the notebook back and forth all over New York City during the holiday season. They share hopes, dreams, desires and dares for each other.
This series is another Netflix original based on a series of books entitled Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares written by New York Times best-selling authors David Levithan and Rachel Cohn. The series has Lily’s perspective written by Cohn and Dash’s is written by Levithan. In the books, the two characters are very different, but their love of books connects them.
Joining Francis and Abrams are Dante Brown, Troy Iwata, Keana Marie, James Saito and Jodi Long. This series was created by Joe Tracz and has Shawn Levy of Stranger Things, Brad Silberling, and Nick Jonas, yes, of the Jonas Brothers fame, as executive producers.
