Best Christmas movies on Netflix: Good Sam

Okay, so this is another pick that’s technically not a Christmas movie BUT we’re in the season for giving and this film is about a good samaritan so just count this a holiday blessing and work with us. Besides, the romance in Good Sam is between a news reporter and a firefighter so there’s a little action thrown in as well.

Kate Bradley (Tiya Sircar) lives for the “bummer beat.” Though she doesn’t wish ill on anyone, being in the thick of chaotic situations like fires, car crashes, and riots is how she makes her bread and butter. It’s also thrilling as all get out, and she hates slow-paced news stories. But when the risks she always takes nearly ends her life, Kate is forced to take a walk on the calm side by station management.

Assigned to a story about a woman who found a bag of cash and is convinced it was a good samaritan that left it for her, Kate is skeptical that anyone is doing something good without expecting anything in return. Her skepticism, however, begins to wane when more people receive money and an anonymous good samaritan page is started for those who also want to give in any way they can to those around them.
