The first Netflix original Christmas movie of the year is almost here! Holidate starring Emma Roberts is coming to Netflix on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

You can watch the new Netflix movie as soon as it’s available to stream if you stay up late on Tuesday night. Holidate premieres at 12:01 a.m. PT on Oct. 28. Obviously, that’s a little late for East Coast viewers, but I’m sure there are some Emma Roberts superfans out there willing to pull an all-nighter to watch the movie.

Holidate is going to be a major hit on Netflix. I can feel it. This movie has all the makings of a No. 1 on the Netflix Top 10 list during its first week. I’m calling it now.

In the movie, Roberts plays Sloane, a perpetually single person who hates the holidays. Sloane makes a pact with Jackson, played by Luke Bracey, to spend each holiday event together for a year. Then, the develop feelings when it’s time to move on! And, that’s where we’ll catch up with these two sure-to-be lovebirds.

Holidate has an awesome cast. Andrew Bachelor, Jessica Capshaw, Manish Dayal, Alex Moffat, Jake Manley, Cynthy Wu, with Frances Fisher and Kristin Chenoweth star in the movie alongside Roberts and Bracey.

John Whitesell directed the film, and Tiffany Paulsen wrote the screenplay.

It’s a little odd that Netflix is already rolling out their holiday movies, but it’s more proof that Christmas and holiday movie fans start watching those kinds of movies as soon as it becomes fall (and probably even earlier).

Holidate kicks off a bunch of holiday movies at Netflix. Every week through Thanksgiving (and probably beyond that), Netflix has holiday movies and shows on the way.
