Calling all anime fans! I have to admit, I never watched anime growing up, but in recent years I’ve watched a few shows because my boyfriend is really into it. Ah, the things we do for love. There are numerous anime shows on Netflix, but if you want to watch one that’s particularly scary as Halloween approaches, then we’ve got you covered.

1. Attack on Titan

I watched the entire first season of Attack on Titan and I can assure you that it’s very gory and frightening. The series takes place in a world where humanity is on the verge of extinction because there are giant, bloodthirsty human-like creatures called Titans roaming the earth and devouring people.

The main character is Eren Yeager, a young man who vows to end the Titan’s tyranny after one kills his mother.

2. Parasyte

According to IMDbParasyte tells the story of Shinichi Izumi. Shinichi is a 17-year-old who becomes infected by a Parasyte, a type of monster that devours and kills humans once attached. In order to survive, Shinichi must learn to coexist with the creature.

3. Death Note

Death Note follows Light Yagami, an intelligent high schooler who discovers an otherworldly notebook that allows the user to kill anyone whose name is written in its pages. Both the animated version and the live-action adaptation of Death Note are available on Netflix.

4. Berserk

Berserk is actually a series of films that take place in a medieval Europe-like fantasy world. The story centers on Guts, a mercenary, and Griffith, the leader of a group called the “Band of the Hawk.”

5. Castlevania

As reported by IMDb, Castlevania is about a vampire hunter who has his work cut out for him when he must save a city from a horde of creatures controlled by Dracula.
