The Haunting of Bly Manor is coming to Netflix tonight

The Haunting of Bly Manor is coming to Netflix on Friday, Oct. 9. The Netflix Original is set to hit the streaming service at 12:01 a.m. PT while East Coast people will have to wait until 3:01 a.m. for the new haunting.

If you stay up late on Thursday night, you can start streaming the series as soon as it’s available on Netflix.

The first chapter in the Haunting series, The Haunting of Hill House, was a huge success when it dropped back in October of 2018. It was one of Netflix’s most-watched shows.

The writers decided that The Haunting of Hill House story was finished in a sense and decided to close that chapter of the story to start a brand new story for viewers to enjoy. So with that being said, The Haunting of Bly Manor is not a continuation or follow up to Hill House.

Instead, The Haunting of Bly Manor is a brand new story that is guaranteed to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Bly Manor will take place in the 80s in England. An American nanny is hired to look after two young children. Soon after arriving at the Bly estate, the nanny begins to experience strange occurrences and a new evil is revealed.

The creative minds behind Bly Manor drew inspiration for this story from Henry James and more specifically The Turn of the Screw which was released in 1998.

The show creator, Mike Flanagan, has been involved with projects such as Doctor Sleep and Gerald’s Game. His work and storytelling is absolutely phenomenal in everything he’s involved in which makes me even more excited to see the second installment of this series.

The fact that The Haunting of Bly Manor is releasing in the month of October is nothing but a huge plus for everybody involved. Viewers want nothing more than to be spooked and honestly flat out scared during the Halloween season. Besides, we’ve already had so many horror movies pushed back to at least 2021.

If this new chapter into the Haunting series is anything like the first, this will be another great season of horror that you won’t want to miss!
