The Crown season 4 photos give first glimpse of Emma Corrin’s Princess Diana

Netflix will release the much anticipated fourth season of The Crown on Nov. 15. Fans are excited to dive into the next chapter in the life of Queen Elizabeth II and her family.

This season Olivia Colman will continue to reign supreme as Queen Elizabeth II. Tobias Menzies will again be at her side as Prince Philip, and Helena Bonham Carter plays the Queen’s sister Princess Margaret.

Claire Foy, who played the Queen in season 1 and 2, will appear in a season four flashback.

Fans are very excited about the introduction of the beloved Lady Diana Spencer this season; she will be played by Emma Corrin. And, Margaret Thatcher will be played by Gillian Anderson. First look photos show Corrin and Anderson in character, and the resemblances are uncanny.

The series was created by Peter Morgan, and the series is inspired by his award-winning play The Audience and his film The Queen.  The portal of the royal family and those in power at the time is just what it should be. It is an in-depth look at this family and the life they lead that captivate so many people. Many Americans can’t get enough of anything to do with the royal family, and this series fills that need perfectly.

Season four will wrap up the 1970s and take us into the 1980s. The royals are actively searching for a bride for Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor). The election of Britain’s first female Prime Minister and the divisive policies she introduces, tensions are high between the Prime Minister and the Queen.

The series will have a fifth and sixth season, which will be the final season. Sadly, Deadline reports that we won’t see the fifth season until sometime in 2022. With the fifth season, we will again see a changing of actors to account for the passage of time and aging of the characters.

Casting for season five will consist of Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Phillip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana.
