Halloween movies and shows: 26. MTV’s Scream

No, this is, unfortunately, not the original Scream movie you are likely thinking about. That one (and all the sequels) are not available to stream on Netflix. However, for some slasher-mystery-drama fun, you can watch MTV’s Scream. 

This is an anthology series that was developed for MTV and is based on the movies. The seasons follow a series of murders and a group of friends targeted by a masked killer (the one known as Ghostface). Each of the seasons features an even bigger mystery that needs to be unlocked. All three seasons are available on Netflix.

This movie is not a Netflix original, but despite the bad reviews it received from critics, it’s a popular psychological thriller that premiered in theaters back in 2012. If you missed it at the movies, you can catch it on the streaming network.

House at the End of the Street stars Jennifer Lawrence and Max Thieriot. The story centers on Elissa and her mother, who move to a new town. As they begin to get to know their neighbors, they realize that a haunting crime occurred years ago, a double murder at the house at the end of the street. And the killer was never found.
