Netflix adding 68 new movies and shows this week
A new week is here and that not only means new stuff on Netflix, this week it also means the start of October! Spooky season is officially here! But besides witches and werewolves and goblins, a new month also means a ton of new movies and shows will be added to Netflix. Whether you’re looking for a new Ryan Murphy-produced movie, a new Netflix Original show, or the first season of a CBS crime drama, Netflix has something for everyone.
On Wednesday, Sept. 29, The Boys in the Band hits Netflix. The film was produced by Ryan Murphy and stars Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto, Matt Bomer, Michael Benjamin Washington, and Andrew Rannells. The movie takes place in 1968 in New York at a birthday party. Someone shows up that no one was expecting and as the alcohol flows, things happen that the seven gay men must reckon with long after the party ends.

If you’re in the mood for a new Netflix Original series, you might want to check out Emily in Paris. It comes out on Friday, Oct. 2, and stars Lily Collins, Samuel Arnold, Lucas Bravo, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Camille Razat, and Kate Walsh. It follows Emily Cooper, a young woman from America who is hired by a marketing firm in Paris. They want her to provide the “American perspective” to their clients. But it’s not all work for Emily; there is also plenty of romance in the City of Lights.

The show revolves around a psychologist, a priest-in-training, and a contractor as they investigate alleged miracles, demonic possessions, and other extraordinary and paranormal occurrences to see if there is a logical explanation or if there’s really something supernatural going on.
This week you can also check out seasons 1 through 5 of The Parkers on Thursday, Oct. 1, and Vampires vs. the Bronx, a film about fighting gentrification AND vampires, on Friday, Oct. 2. There are also two Oscar-winning films, Fargo and Her, coming to Netflix on Oct 1 as well.
