Netflix adds 25 new movies and shows this week
We made it through another week despite the news being…awful. While it may not seem like there is a lot to look forward to, there is always something new on Netflix each week and this week is no different. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for a new Netflix Original movie, a new season of a cooking competition series or the last season of a popular network show, Netflix has something for everyone.
On Wednesday, Sept. 23, Enola Holmes hits Netflix and I, for one, could not be more excited. The movie stars Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, Sam Claflin and Helena Bonham Carter and is based on the Enola Holmes book series by Nancy Springer. Enola is the younger sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes and when her mother goes missing, she makes it her mission to find her no matter what her brothers or society thinks of her.

More in the mood for a baking competition? The Great British Baking Show is back on Netflix with season 11 on Friday, Sept. 25. Or at least the first episode will be. The episodes will come out weekly so, unfortunately, no binge-watching here. This season was shot during the pandemic so everyone on the show was in quarantine before they started filming. There might be a little less contact between the contestants, the hosts and the judges. And speaking of hosts, there is a new host this season as Matt Lucas has joined the show.

Or are you looking for a bit of a laugh in these hard times? If so, you’re in luck because season 4 of The Good Place will be on Netflix on Saturday, Sept. 26. This is the final season of the NBC show, so if you missed it when it aired or want to rewatch it, this is the perfect opportunity. The season focuses on the characters dealing with finding out that they aren’t actually in the Good Place like they originally thought.

This week also brings a new season of The Chef Show on Thursday, Sept. 24 as well as two new documentaries. On Monday, Sept. 21, you can check out A Love Song for Latasha about the killing of Latasha Harlins and the LA uprising in 1992. You can also check out Kiss the Ground on Tuesday, Sept. 22. This documentary features activists and scientists working together to figure out the climate crisis.
