The Devil All the Time premieres on September 16 on Netflix

The psychological thriller, The Devil All the Timeis coming to Netflix on Friday, Sept. 16. You can start watching the new Netflix movie at 12:01 a.m. PT. We know more than a few fans will be staying up that late to watch this movie.

The streaming network is about to release another hit film. Will The Devil All the Time be Netflix’s biggest movie yet? Only one way to find out! But what are the critics saying?

According to Rotten Tomatoes, most critics agree that the movie would have worked better as a miniseries, but that the brilliant performances make it well worth watching.

While I haven’t watched the movie myself, I’m a fan of the cast. Particularly Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Bill Skarsgard, and Sebastian Stan, so a miniseries does seem great in the sense that we would have seen more of them. But we’ll have to watch the movie Sept. 16 to judge for ourselves.

Watch The Devil All the Time on Netflix

The Netflix movie follows Arvin Russell (Tom Holland) and his family as they move to a new town. They don’t get anything close to a fresh start, or even a warm welcome. Instead, they find themselves living among evil, from an unholy preacher (Robert Pattinson), a couple with wicked intentions (Jason Clarke and Riley Keough), and a corrupted sheriff (Sebastian Stan).

Arvin does everything in his power to keep his family safe, but will he be manipulated by those around him?

The Devil All the Time is based on the novel of the same name by Donald Ray Pollock. Critics warn that the Netflix movie is more “grim” and violent than the pages.

In fact, what we found critics to complain about the most is the dark tone of the film, some suggesting that comic relief was needed. One thing is for sure, we are about to see Tom Holland in a brand new light and I’m excited to see him in something completely different.

The Devil All the Time premieres on Netflix on Sept. 16. Do you plan on staying up late to watch it or will you be catching it later in the week?
