Locke and Key season 2 starts filming in September

Production on the Netflix originals series, Locke and Key, will continue on Sept. 21, 2020. Deadline reports that the cast and crew will begin filming Locke and Key season 2 at Cinespace Film Studios in Toronto.

Locke and Key premiered in February of 2020, and with its success, it was quickly renewed for a second season in March. With all of the filming shutdowns, it was unclear when this second season would be able to start production.

The first season of the Netflix show introduced viewers to the Locke children who, after the murder of their father, move to his ancestral home with their mother. Keyhouse, the family estate, turns out to contain more than they expected. While discovering many magic keys, the children can unlock different powers that each possesses.

The series has a good mixture of horror, suspense, and fantasy, but it also mixes in coming of age drama, making it very appealing to a wide demographic.

The first season starred Darby Stanchfield, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Jackson Robert Scott, Petrice Jones, Laysla De Oliveira, and Griffin Gluck. It looks like all of these actors will return in season two. We will be sure to confirm that as soon as it is known.

The series is based on a collection of comic books written by Joe Hill and illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez. The book series consists of six volumes. The creators made a cameo appearance in the season one finale as paramedics.

The first season has set it up nicely to continue with an additional season. I won’t give anything away, but things could take an exciting turn going on the ending of the finale episode in season one.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any news regarding Locke and Key season 2.
