Lucifer season 5, episode 5 continues to dish out tears and secrets

This season of Lucifer isn’t holding back any emotions. Which secrets surfaced (right along with our tears) in Lucifer season 5, episode 5? Let’s recap!

Lucifer is desperate to get Chloe’s attention, even via stripper-gram. He wants to make things right after finally understanding why she’s so freaked out about being a gift from God. What she needs is time and space to think, but Lucifer doesn’t believe he has time as he will eventually be needed back in Hell. Or will he?

Episode 5, titled “Detective Amenadiel,” also introduces Amenadiel’s mojo, and it’s the funniest thing so far this season. What isn’t funny at all is Maze’s continued heartbreak. When will our favorite demon catch a break?

Amenadiel returns from Hell

Fun fact: Adele isn’t going to Hell, Lucifer Morningstar confirms it. We love it when the characters makes fun references like this!

Lucifer is surprised to see Amenadiel back in Hell, he can’t believe all it took was one night for God to send Amenadiel back to Earth. But hey, not that he’s complaining (too much), this means he can finally give Chloe all the time she needs.

Linda’s secret

Heartbreak number one! If you figured Linda had a daughter when she was a young girl, you were right! In this episode, while trying to help Maze heal from her abandonment issues, Linda talks to her about why mothers abandon their children.

Maze tells Linda she’s a great mother who would never leave Charlie, but Linda shares that she had a baby girl when she was 17-years-old. When her daughter was born, Linda knew she wasn’t ready, so she gave her up for adoption to give her daughter a shot at a better life.

Detective Amenadiel’s mojo

Amenadiel checks in on Chloe, feeling guilty for being the one who “delivered the gift.” He offers to help her in any way he can. Chloe just thanks him and doesn’t think much of it, but quickly calls him for help on her latest case: the murder of a nun.

Detective Amenadiel is on the case! And what do you know, he isn’t able to learn what people’s deepest desires are, but he has his very own mojo!

Now, Amenadiel may not have been a great nightclub owner, but he is killing this case! Not literally, of course. It turns out his mojo is trust! Everyone who has faith is able to trust him and tell him the truth. It’s a lot of fun to see. They love him!

More heartbreak for Maze

After learning more about Linda’s daughter and story, Maze reveals that she knows where Linda’s daughter is. Did you expect any less from the best bounty hunter of all-time?

Linda’s daughter’s name is Adriana. She is beautiful and looks just like her mother, glasses and all! As much as Maze pushes, though, Linda isn’t able to tell Adriana the truth. Linda tells Maze that she’ll do it when she’s ready.

Maze leaves angry and goes to see Lilith for closure aka to yell how much she hates her. Unfortunately, Lilith is now dead, which leaves Maze feeling empty. I’m telling you, our girl needs some happiness!

Chloe and Lucifer

After learning that Amenadiel helps those who have faith feel closer to God, he figures out that people are attracted to Lucifer because he brings out their dark desires.

Amenadiel shares this with Chloe and it helps her realize that Lucifer doesn’t have this effect on her, Chloe doesn’t see him this way. Chloe chooses to love him.

Now that that’s settled, nothing is stopping them from being together!
