Tired of choosing what to watch? Netflix has a fix for that: shuffle play.

Have you noticed a shuffle play option on the home screen of your Netflix account? This is a new feature the streamer is testing out. Instead of arguing with friends and family, you can allow Netflix to randomly choose what you will watch next.

This feature is being tested and currently only available on TV devices. The feature is only available to a portion of subscribers, and it shows up under the profile, in the billboard area, or the TV menu sidebar.

It seems like a great way to filter content on Netflix instead of scrolling through the options for thirty minutes before you just go back to your old standbys like The Office, Parks and Rec, New Girl, or The Walking Dead.

Tech Crunch seemed to be the first to notice the feature, and Netflix told them it would enable subscribers to quickly find choices based on their viewing history or playlists. The streamer also stated that they had tried variations of this feature to find out what is most useful.

The randomly chosen content will be based on the viewer’s history, saved content, and their “my list” section of their profile.

Social media is abuzz with people posting about finding this feature. Some are excited about the options this will bring them, and others are joking about it and not sure if it will be worthwhile.

Earlier this year, Netflix allowed subscribers to turn off the autoplay preview feature. Many people weren’t fans of the constant preview in the corner of their screens.  This is another way Netflix is continually trying to make the viewing experience better. They listen to their subscribers and edit features to fit what the people want.
