Emily in Paris starring Lily Collins is coming to Netflix
Emily In Paris, starring Lily Collins, will now stream on Netflix instead of Paramount Network and will premiere in the fall of 2020, according to TV Line.
Rom-coms are a popular genre on Netflix, so it makes sense why Netflix would pick up Emily In Paris, which tells the story of an executive who moves to Paris for her dream job.
It was announced only recently that Netflix would take the reins for the upcoming original series. Emily In Paris consists of 10 episodes in the first season.
Darren Star is the creator of this series and is fondly remembered for his work on Sex and the City. Another SATC connection is Patricia Fields, who gave us all the fantastic costumes on that series, and she will also lend her expertise to Emily In Paris.
Netflix announced the news on Twitter.
Deadline reports that Star has said:
"“MTV Studios and I couldn’t hope for a more perfect home for Emily in Paris than Netflix. With their international reach, we are excited to share Emily with audiences around the world.”"
The series was filmed on location in Paris and other parts of France. Sadly, we don’t have a trailer yet or an exact premiere date. But, with the release of the first look photos and the news that Netflix is now in charge of the series, a trailer is sure to be released soon.
Along with Collins, series regulars include Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Philippine Leroy Beaulieu, Camille Razat, and Bruno Gouery. Recurring roles include appearances by Kate Walsh, William Abadie, and Arnaud Viard, according to the report.
As with all rom-coms, a fantastic event is followed by hilarity, difficult choices, and relationship challenges. Emily In Paris is no different. Emily must find her way in a new country, in a new position at her company, as well as juggle friendships and love along the way.
At Netflix Life, we will share all the news of Emily In Paris as we receive it and look for the premiere on Netflix in the fall of 2020.
