Netflix is adding 18 new movies and shows this week

A new week is here! July seems to be going much faster than the past couple of months and Netflix is bringing out more new content every week. This week you can check out a new Netflix thriller, a classic book-to-film adaptation, and a new Netflix Original series based on Arthurian legend.

On Thursday, July 16, Fatal Affair comes to Netflix. The film starring Nia Long and Omar Epps follows Ellie (played by Long) as she tries to commit to her marriage after a short affair with an old friend. But that old friend is not a nice as he initially seems. DUN DUN DUNNNN! This looks like it will have us all on the edge of our couches waiting to see what happens next..

Jane Austen fans, our time is here again!! Pride & Prejudice (2005) is back on Netflix on Thursday, July 16.  The classic story of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy may be old but people still love these characters as much as ever. This version stars Kiera Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen and the cinematography alone makes it worth a watch. It’s gorgeous. And the scene where Elizabeth rejects Mr. Darcy in the rain?? Perfection! I will be watching this at least once on Thursday!

More in the mood for an adventure fantasy series? Netflix’s new series, Cursed, hits the streaming service on Friday, July 17. The series follows a teenage sorceress named Nimue as she meets a young Arthur as he looks for an ancient sword. You might have heard of it. It’s called Excalibur! The series stars Katherine Langford as Nimue, Devon Terrell as Arthur, and Gustaf Skarsgård as Merlin.
