The Office Spinoffs: The Farm

The Farm might sound familiar for fans of The Office, and that’s because it was almost a real spinoff of The Office!

In the final season, The Office aired a backdoor pilot for a spinoff series that focuses on Dwight Schrute and his family. Overall, it’s one of the weirdest episodes of the show, and it doesn’t really feel like an episode of the series. And, that’s because it was so different from the actual show.

The episode featured Rainn Wilson, Michael Schur, Matt Jones, Thomas Middleditch, Majandra Delfino, and more.

While I didn’t particularly enjoy the episode, Schrute family and co. would make for a great TV family. It just didn’t work at the time on NBC.

If Netflix, Peacock, or another streaming network were to step in now and order “The Farm,” I could see it working very well. Dwight is simply too good of a character.

If the writers were able to get the tone right, The Farm would be a hit on Netflix. I just know it would. Unfortunately, this is very unlikely to ever happen, but we can only dream!
