Netflix is adding over 75 new movies and shows this week
Netflix is adding almost 80 new movies and shows this month
Somehow, it’s almost the end of June and while that means July 4 is just around the corner, it also means a ton of new stuff is being added to Netflix. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for all the films in a famous franchise, a new series based on popular books, or a new Netflix Original show adapted from a comic book series, Netflix has something for everyone this week.
On Wednesday, July 1, all three Karate Kid movies hit the streaming service. The Karate Kid Part 1, 2, and 3 will be available to binge-watch to your heart’s content. The trilogy starring Ralph Macchio follows a young boy, Daniel , who finds it hard to fit in after moving from New Jersey to California. But after one particular fight, he finds out that the elderly landlord, Miyagi, is an expert at karate and is willing to teach him.
As the franchise goes on, Daniel and Miyagi bond while training, while traveling together to Miyagi’s hometown, and when fighting an old rival.
If you’re more in the mood for a series to binge-watch that will make you nostalgic for the 90s, The Baby-Sitters Club series comes to Netflix on Friday, July 3. But this is not an exact adaptation as it takes place in modern day. If you watch the trailer below, you’ll see they call a corded landline phone “iconic” and “25-years-old” which will probably make everyone who originally read the books feel ancient (me included).
Other than that, the show follows the same story of the books. A group of friends in seventh grade start a club that parents can call and be guaranteed a good babysitter. Besides the babysitter antics, the show will also cover topics like divorce and racism.

Or are you looking for a series that’s a little bit darker? If so, season 1 of Warrior Nun might be just what you’re looking for. The series comes to Netflix on Thursday, July 2. The show is based on the comic book series and follows a young woman who wakes up with a divine artifact in her back. As she tries to figure out what is going on, she finds herself caught up in a war between Heaven and Hell.
All the warrior nuns look amazing! How can you not be cool when your name is Shotgun Mary?

Season 15 of Unsolved Mysteries is also back thanks to the team behind Stranger Things. It will be available on July 1 along with the movie adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Witches and the classic heartbreaking romance, A Walk to Remember.
