There’s no one we should trust more to make us laugh than Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Between their joint tenure on Saturday Night Live and their individual seven-season runs on 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation, they have kept us in laughter for very nearly two decades. A true blessing arrived when the unstoppable pair brought their talents to the big screen in the first co-leading roles together in 2008’s Baby Mama. Twelve years later, and we’re still quoting the movie non-stop and adding it to our Netflix watch lists. Don’t miss one of the month’s best new releases.

Tina Fey stars in Baby Mama as Kate Holbrook, a single executive for an organic marketplace who decides she’s ready to start a family on her own. After weighing her options, Kate hires Angie Ostrowski (Amy Poehler) to be her surrogate mother. From the moment they meet, Kate and Angie are total opposites, as Kate’s totally by-the-book and Angie flies by the seat of her pants. However, Kate’s plans get turned upside down when Angie’s secret comes to light, leading the battle of wits between the pair to mount to a fever pitch. That is until fate sorts itself out.

Baby Mama comes from writer-director Michael McCullers, who made his directorial debut with the film and also wrote such movies as Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, The Boss Baby and Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation. The film earned mixed to positive reception from critics upon release, holding a score of 63% on Rotten Tomatoes. Of course, it’s a 100% to its target audience and performed modestly at the box office. No matter how many years pass, Baby Mama will always be a Tina and Amy classic worth a million rewatches. Give it one on Netflix this June.
