You haven’t seen Clueless? As if! It should be required by law (okay, maybe not law) to watch one of the best teen movies of all time when you’re in high school. Discovering it any other time will make it just hit differently. But we won’t be picky — you have to watch it sometime. Luckily, for those who still haven’t seen the ’90s classic, it’s coming to Netflix this month for streaming solely for the purpose of remedying your pop culture blindspot. And for those of us who have beheld the hilarity of Clueless, it’s time for the millionth rewatch of a tried and true favorite.

Loosely based on Emma by Jane Austen, Clueless follows the exploits of well-meaning but shallow and privileged rich girl Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone). Since Cher fancies herself something of a matchmaker, she decides to offer the world a good deed and pair together two teachers who could use some love. She keeps the ball rolling by making over an “unhip” new student named Tai (Brittany Murphy), but her makeover backfires when Tai becomes more popular. Cher realizes her college student stepbrother Josh (Paul Rudd) was right about her.

Clueless comes from director Amy Heckerling, who also directed such films as Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Johnny Dangerously, National Lampoon’s European Vacation, Look Who’s Talking, Loser, I Could Never Be Your Woman and Vamps. The film was a box office hit, bringing in over $56 million against a $12 million budget, and holds a stellar 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Clueless has stood the test of time and has remained beloved for over two decades. A Riverdale-tinged reboot television is currently in the works, but you can catch the original classic when it returns to Netflix for streaming at the top of June.
