HBO Max has received the exclusive rights for the streaming of Young Sheldon

The new streaming service HBO Max had its release this week along with its vast list of choices that already included the entire The Big Bang Theory catalog. Today they announced they would also have secured the exclusive rights to stream the spin-off series, Young Sheldon.

For those who have never watched either of the series, this is a great time to get introduced to the whole story of Sheldon Cooper. And, for those fans who already know the entire story, now they can binge either or both anytime they choose on HBO Max.

Fans of the franchise will be happy to see that both series are available in one place. HBO Max chief content officer, Kevin Reilly had this to say via a press release announcing the news:

"“We now feel like our Big Bang offering is complete. We are so proud to be the home of this beloved franchise and the place where new and existing fans can learn about young Sheldon Cooper’s roots.”"

Young Sheldon is precisely what the title suggests, a look at the younger life of Sheldon Cooper. Sheldon, the grown-up stars in The Big Bang Theory and is known for his genius-level I-Q with limited social skills.

In the spin-off, we see a 9-year-old Sheldon growing up in East Texas while attending high school. The series follows Sheldon on his journey of being a smarter than average child trying to fit in somewhere. His twin sister Missy struggles with Sheldon getting all the attention, his old brother Georgie has to deal with his little brother taking the same classes that he does, and his father, George, who just struggles to relate with the child. Of course, Sheldon does have his champion, his mother, Mary. She protects and nurtures him, knowing that her son isn’t quite like other children his age.
