All American season 3 delayed until January 2021

Fans are in for a longer than anticipated break between seasons as All American season 3 will not be coming to The CW this fall as originally anticipated.

In announcing its plans for the 2020-21 season, The CW has made the decision to hold the new seasons of many of its returning series until January 2021. Among the handful of shows being shuffled from a fall premiere to an early debut at the top of the new year is season 3 of All American.

The delay, of course, is a direct result of production shutdowns which continue to impact network and studios. Unlike many fellow CW dramas, All American was able to complete its filming prior to the shutdowns allowing the writers to complete season 2 without any issues.

With Spencer and Billy deciding to leave Beverly Hills High and return to South Crenshaw in the season 2 finale, it’s going to be interesting to see what changes await fans in season 3. We imagine it’s going to be quite interesting to see how the decision will affect Billy’s relationships — including with Jordan, who we presume will remain at Beverly Hills High — as well as Spencer’s relationships with his former teammates and friends.

However, it seems we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see what awaits us.

With All American season 3 delayed, what exactly does that mean for the show’s Netflix release date?

The good news is that new seasons of All American will continue to arrive on Netflix eight days after their finales air on The CW. The bad news is that we’ll likely have to wait slightly longer than expected for the next season to drop on Netflix.

As the show’s first two seasons wrapped in March, US fans have become accustomed to the latest season arriving in Spring. While an exact episode count has not yet been confirmed for season 3, it’s likely All American‘s third season will once again consist of 16 episodes.

Depending on when The CW officially kicks off its January schedule (and without accounting for any random breaks between episodes), it seems likely All American season 3 will conclude sometime in April. As a result, it’s possible we could see season 3 drop in late April or early May 2021 at the latest.
