Space Force starring Steve Carell premieres on Netflix in May 2020

Space Force starring Steve Carell, Ben Schwartz, and John Malkovich is coming to Netflix in May 2020. Schwartz revealed the Space Force release date on a podcast.

Space Force is coming to Netflix very soon! And, that’s very good news!

According to a report from What’s on Netflix, the first season of Space Force, the new Netflix original series, will be available to stream on Sunday, May 31. Ben Schwartz, who stars in the series, revealed the release date on a recent podcast episode of “You Made It Wierd with Pete Holmes.” It’s a great podcast, by the way!

Schwartz broke the news at the very, very end of the podcast after promoting his upcoming Middleditch & Schwartz improv specials coming to Netflix on April 21.

Space Force is the show fans have been waiting a long time to see! Netflix announced the series way back in January 2019. The Office (US) creator Greg Daniels teamed with Steve Carell for the new Netflix series.

The workplace comedy sounds a lot like The Office but is set in the world of “Space Force,” which is the sixth branch of the US Military. What does the Space Force do? Probably about the same as Dunder Mifflin, which is to say they actually do nothing and serve no real purpose.

Carell stars as General Mark R. Naird in the series, along with Schwartz, John Malkovich, Tawny Newsome, Diana Silvers, Noah Emmerich, Jimmy O. Yang, Alex Sparrow, Don Lake, Jessica St. Clair, and Fred Willard.

Netflix has not confirmed that release date, and it’s always possible that it could change. With about two months to go until that date, we’ll likely get the official word from Netflix in the near future.

I can’t wait to watch this series. It has so many good actors! Daniels is the GOAT when it comes to making sitcoms, in my opinion. The Office is truly one of the best shows of all time.

Unfortunately, The Office is leaving Netflix later this year. Hopefully, Netflix has captured something brilliant with Space Force and can sort of replace The Office in some respect. I know it won’t replace the show. What show could? But, The Office fans like me are going to need something to watch.

Space Force has the potential to be one of Netflix’s best comedies yet!
