Fans of The Walking Dead have received a lot of disappointing news in recent weeks. Now, the season 10 finale has been postponed.

The Walking Dead announced that it will be postponing its season 10 finale for later this year, according to a report from Undead Walking. This comes as a shock to fans as season 10 has brought new elements to the series and has been such an exciting season.

This announcement comes on the heels of the newest spin-off The Walking Dead: World Beyond postponing their series premiere that was set for April. These delays are a direct result of COVID-19 and global pandemic. With experts advising social distancing and other measures, these interruptions in the series are for the safety of everyone involved.

As for Fear the Walking Dead, the first spinoff series, they had already taken a break from filming before the outbreak. It is unknown when any of the series will be able to start filming again

The Walking Dead’s announcement was shared via their Twitter page, and with it came some fantastic artwork featuring Daryl Dixon, which you can see below. He is wearing a cloak with a hood and looks to be surrounded by a horde of walkers with a Whisperer right behind him. Could that be Negan?

Fans were understandable disappointed about the postponement, especially since it will be the season finale, which, in true seasons ending form, would give us something amazing to look forward to for season 11.

It’s also unclear how the delay affects the season 10 release date on Netflix. Since we don’t know when the season will end, it’s hard to predict when the full season will be added to the streaming service.

Speaking of Season 11, it is in the process of being written via a virtual writing room. This information was shared on Instagram by writer Kevin Deiboldt.  Even though filming probably won’t happen any time soon, it is good to know that progress is still being made for season 11.

Now we must wait, but we can always binge-watch the previous seasons of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead to keep us going. If you stopped watch either of these shows, right about now is the perfect time to get caught up.

Stay tuned for more news about The Walking Dead and when season 10 will be available on Netflix.
