4. Insidious

Release Year: 2010

Directed By: James Wan

Cast: Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins, Lin Shaye, Leigh Whannell, and many more!

I had to do it; I had to throw a Horror film into the mix. If it was just my choice, the top 5 would be filled with nothing but Horror films, but I know that’s just not realistic when it comes to date nights.

The running joke is that Netflix isn’t known for having a great horror selection, but there are some films that will make you hold your date a little closer. One movie that sticks out is Insidious.

This terrifying film is about a family that moves into a big house, and little do they know that the house they just purchased is haunted and filled with deep, dark secrets. Patrick Wilson plays the dad in the film who is a teacher full-time. The family tries to find help for their son, Dalton, who ends up falling into a coma after a mysterious accident in the attic of their new home.

As time passes on, weird things start to happen in the house. When a child is involved, it elevates things, and that’s what makes Insidious a must-see and a great choice for a date night!

3. Anger Management

Release Year: 2003

Directed By: Peter Segal

Cast: Adam Sandler, Jack Nicholson, Marissa Tomei, Luis Guzman, Allen Covert and many more!

The list just wouldn’t be right without an Adam Sandler movie in it! Most of Sandler’s movies are on the older side, although it was just confirmed that he is doing four more movies with Netflix! Anyways, I had to throw Anger Management into the mix for many reasons!

Like many of Sandler’s movies, it’s pure comedy, which usually ends in some type of romance. But we will call Anger Management a pure comedy because that’s what it is!

The film takes place in New York City which is where Dave Buznik works. Dave, played by Sandler, works for a major pet clothing company where he is trying to make partner and move up. Dave is known for having anger problems throughout his life, and his girlfriend, Linda, has had enough!

Dave gets into a situation where he makes some bad decisions because of his anger and is sentenced to Anger Management sessions. His anger coach, Buddy, played by Jack Nicholson, really puts Dave to the test throughout the film resulting in some of the funniest material Sandler has made.

This film is guaranteed to have you and your date laughing non stop!
