5 assumptions most fans are making about Stranger Things 4

The whole gang will be back together again immediately

Eleven, Will, Jonathan and Joyce bailed on Hawkins at the end of season 3. We saw and heard Mike and Eleven talking about coming back for Thanksgiving and Christmas and sharing presents. From that moment, I think we all assumed that Eleven and Will and the Byers fam would be heading back to Hawkins again in Stranger Things 4.

While the first two assumptions on this list are definitely going to happen at some point in Stranger Things 4, I’m not so sure about this one. There’s a chance that these characters who left Hawkins might not be reuniting with these characters that are still in Hawkins in season 4.

I didn’t think much about it at first, but in the months since Stranger Things 3, I’m starting to think this is more likely. Why have Eleven and Will leave if we’re just going watch them waltz right back into Hawkins in season 4?

I’m not saying Eleven, Will, Joyce and Jonathan will never go back to Hawkins, but it doesn’t make sense for the characters to leave and then return right away. That’s the main reason I don’t think the season is going to take place at Christmas time, along with the fact that it’s too short of a time frame for production, post-production and promotion.

Will it happen?

I don’t think so, initially, and maybe not at all. Stranger Things is really good at splitting up these characters. Every season, these characters get split up and paired with different characters, and it makes for very interesting storylines and powerful scenes.

In Stranger Things 3, most of the characters were separated for the majority of the season. They all come together in the season finale to try to stop the Russians and the monster.

I’m thinking something like that will happen again in season 4. The show is so much more spread out now, and it will be interesting to see how the show deals with that distance. At some point, we’ll see the whole gang together, I hope, but it probably won’t be right away.
