Santa has been and now it’s time to relax with the family. What are you going to watch? Opt for these five great Netflix movies on Christmas Day.

Christmas Day is the perfect chance to sit back and unwind. You want to find something to watch for the whole family, and you know Netflix will have your back. It certainly does, but there may be a few too many choices on offer.

Feeling a little overwhelmed? Here are five good Netflix movies to watch on Christmas Day.

5. Dear Santa

Angel and Supernatural fans will want to check out Dear Santa right now on Netflix. It stars Amy Acker and David Haydn-Jones in a very sweet movie that isn’t your stereotypical Hallmark story. Acker is Crystal, a wealthy woman who finds out that she’s being cut off from her trust fund.

When she finds a letter from a young girl asking for Santa to bring a woman for her father to fall in love with, Crystal decides to find out more about this father. Of course, along the way, she starts to fall for Haydn-Jones’ Derek, but what happens when the truth about the letter and Crystal’s initial intentions come out?

4. The Princess Switch

If you’ve seen The Parent Trap or even the Lizzie Maguire movie where she’s in Europe, you’ve seen this story done. Vanessa Hudgens plays two characters, Margaret Delacourt (Duchess of Montenaro) and Stacy DeNovo. When they realize that they look very similar, they decide to take on each other’s personalities to get a sense of what it’s like in another world.

Naturally, the two characters fall in love with men from their different worlds. They learn more about themselves along the way at the same time. This is a sweet romantic comedy and something that the entire family will find something to love.

3. Let It Snow

When a small midwestern town is hit with a snowstorm on Christmas Eve, all plans have to change. The high school students come together, realizing that their differences are their strengths.

On a basic level, it’s a coming-of-age movie. The teenagers learn more about themselves and each other, forging unlikely friendships for the years to come. It’s the newest of all movies on this list, and also great to put on while wanting to unwind after present opening.

2. El Camino Christmas

Need an adult comedy to check out this Christmas Day? El Camino Christmas is perfect for the evening when the kids are tired out from playing with all their toys. That is if you haven’t fallen asleep after the 5 a.m. wake-up call they gave you!

El Camino Christmas is an over-the-top fun film with a great cast. When a man goes in search for a father he’s never met, he ends up barricaded in a liquor store on Christmas Eve. Inside that store are five strangers. Can they trust each other? You’ll have to watch it to find out!

1. The Christmas Chronicles

Last year brought the excellent The Christmas Chronicles to Netflix. It wasn’t a surprise to hear that a sequel was coming, but that’s not here yet. Instead, we just have to make do with the first movie. And it’s more than worth the watch this Christmas Day.

If your family is anything like mine, it was on repeat throughout the holiday season last year. We’ve gone some time without the awesome music and beautiful, heartfelt story, but now it’s back on repeat and I don’t hate it for a minute! Really!

This is such an excellently made movie and full of Christmas cheer. More importantly, it’s just fun for the entire family to watch, and sometimes that’s the most important thing to get from a Christmas movie.
