Netflix is the perfect way to relax. Whether you’re getting the kids tired or you’re still wrapping gifts, here are five good Netflix movies for Christmas Eve.

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all you want is to find a way to get the kids to sleep! They’re excited for Santa’s imminent arrival, so how about turning on Netflix and throwing something on while you all snuggle up under warm blankets? Here are five good Netflix movies to watch this Christmas Eve.

5. A Christmas Prince

I don’t usually wholly support movies that involve a woman considering giving up her career for a man, but this is where A Christmas Prince is slightly different. Sure, Amber is willing to give up some of her life to become the future queen of Aldovia, but she doesn’t fully want to give up who she is. And that’s what makes the Christmas Prince franchise so great.

There are three movies. It all starts with A Christmas Prince, when Amber is tasked with writing a story about the playboy Prince of Aldovia. They fall in love and the second moving involves marriage. Naturally, the third brings a baby (as well as a curse).

They’re fun movies and make easy viewing on Christmas Eve. Plus, they are suitable for children. My seven-year-old enjoyed watching the second movie with me.

4. A Knight Before Christmas

Again, it kind of supports the idea of a woman needing love to feel whole and I don’t always support that, but it’s Christmas. Sometimes you just need a little magic. And a Hallmark-like movie. A Knight Before Christmas ticks the boxes.

Brooke is a science teacher who has fallen out with love. When a 14th-century knight time travels to her, she has to help him figure out life in the 21st century. Can he teach her a thing or two about love at Christmas? Of course he can!

3. Holiday in the Wild

Rob Lowe and Kristin Davis snag a place on the list with the 2019 release, Holiday in the Wild. After being kilted by her husband just before they head off on an African safari, Kate decides to head out alone. She ends up on a journey of self-discovery, realizing that she’s more than just the wife of a man willing to walk away from everything she offered.

While on the safari, she meets Derek, an elephant conservationist. It’s another movie where a woman gives up her life for a man, but this is also a case of a woman giving up her life to do something better and something good elsewhere. She wants to protect the animals, and I love that element to the story. So will the rest of your family.

2. Holiday Rush

One of the 2019 Christmas movies on Netflix is a fun one. Holiday Rush focuses on a widower father of five. He’s found success in his job at a radio station, but things change when he’s let go just before the holiday season.

Rush has to figure out what to do. He’s coped with the death of his wife by spoiling his children. Now he needs to pull everything back and remind everyone of the true spirit of Christmas. It’s a family story that is perfect for all the little ones.

1. Klaus

We’re onto another 2019 Christmas movie, and it’s got nothing to do with The Umbrella Academy‘s No. Four! Klaus is about Santa Claus, well, sort of. It’s a story of friendship, kindness, and compassion.

Jesper, the new postman in Smeerensburg, befriends the local toymaker, Klaus. They’re from two different places that have faced an age-old feud, but their simple acts of kindness towards each other will help to melt the icy tension. If you love How the Grinch Stole Christmas, you’re going to simply adore Klaus. This is perfect for the entire family.
