Episode 6 of Servant introduces the most unwelcomed and rude house guest of all-time. Who is Leanne’s uncle?

The mystery thickens in an all-new episode of Servant on Apple TV Plus, yet not many more questions are answered. Is this M. Night Shyamalan’s mind at work or is this horror-drama headed for disaster? Let’s break down what episode 6, “Rain,” has to offer and the new questions and answers it delivers.

“Rain” begins with Sean (Toby Kebbell) hurrying out on a trip to work. He will only be gone one day, but with Leanne (Nell Tiger Free) around, anything can happen. And that’s exactly what goes down! Within a couple of hours, there’s a knock at the door. It’s Leanne’s uncle, George. This happens just after Leanne receives a letter in the mail. There’s no return address, all the card reads is “Found You!”

Could the card have been from her strange uncle or is someone after Leanne? We have little to no time to process that mystery because a new one is now on the doorstep soaking wet from the rain.

Leanne doesn’t hesitate to allow her uncle inside, but does ask him to please remove his shoes. When the camera shows George’s feet, we see they are dirty. His pants are torn, oversized, and his shoes are worn out entirely. Before you feel too bad for him, we also notice his hands are incredibly dirty. And is there ever a good excuse to not wash your hands?

We are instantly afraid for Jericho, or, well, whoever this baby truly is. Initially, Dorothy is delighted to meet a family member of Leanne’s. But the joy quickly vanishes and is replaced by a mix of fear and disgust. Let’s just say that, much like George’s shoes, he has left all manners at the door.

Julian appears while the three are having dinner. Sean called Julian from out-of-town as soon as he learned of their uninvited guest. Julian is there to keep an eye on George and to be sure his sister is safe. Unfortunately, Julian’s presence doesn’t help at all.

In the middle of the night, Julian and Dorothy find George sleeping inside the baby crib and Jericho on the floor! Still, Dorothy refuses to kick him out. I would ask what is wrong with her, but we know at this point that there’s a lot wrong with Dorothy.

George finally reveals that he is there to take Leanne back home with him, telling Dorothy that she is “needed” elsewhere. Dorothy refuses to let Leanne go, and the young girl agrees that she wants to stay. George is fuming, asking Leanne about the other people who need her help and if she is willing to give it all up for this family. Leanne simply nods.

George leaves and tells Leanne that he’ll be back with Aunt May, who, according to George, Leanne can’t say “no” to. A few theories popping online after this episode:

  • Leanne’s family (maybe only her), has been given the ability to “resurrect” the dead. But at what cost?
  • The “other families” can refer to other parents who have lost a baby.
  • Is this just an incredibly good deed? What if Jericho goes back to being a doll once Leanne leaves him?
  • Will Aunt May force Leanne out by extreme measures?
