When Netflix made an exclusive deal with Ryan Murphy, we knew that only meant good things when it came to Netflix Originals. There were going to be some excellent additions to the service. And it all started with The Politician.

Payton Hobart has known that he would be the future President of the United States when he was seven years old. That’s going to take some time, and it means he needs to become the president of the student body at his high school first.

Simple, right? If only the political landscape was an easy one. This isn’t just something Payton wants. He feels like he needs it if he’s going to get into Harvard and continue that dream of being the man sitting in the White House.

Now he needs to go on a mission to outsmart those running against him. The question is whether he’s willing to sacrifice his own morality and that carefully crafted public image to gain everything he wants.

The Politician season 2 has been officially confirmed. It will likely arrive sometime in 2020.
