It’s a great day to be a Swiftie! Netflix has officially announced the Taylor Swift documentary, titled Taylor Swift: Miss Americana, is coming in early 2020!
Taylor Swift and Netflix had a fun and big reveal planned to announce the singer-songwriter’s upcoming documentary. After all, it has been years in the making and a huge part of Swift’s life.
Unfortunately, due to her ongoing struggling battle with Scooter Braun and Big Machine Label, Swift had no choice but to break the news to fans earlier this year in a not-so-pleasant way.
No matter! Taylor Swift fans are behind the star all the way, and we are even more excited now that the streaming giant has made things official and revealed that Taylor Swift: Miss Americana is coming to Netflix in early 2020!
Taylor Swift: Miss Americana is directed by Lana Wilson (The Departure) and produced by Morgan Neville (Won’t You Be My Neighbor). The documentary is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival first, on Jan. 23, 2020.
We’re still not sure if Miss Americana will also debut on Netflix shortly after or how long fans will have to wait. But the press release does tease “early 2020,” so our best guess is late Feb. to early March. We’ll keep you posted!
The documentary follows the global superstar Taylor Swift’s raw and emotional journey through a long period of time. Viewers will get to follow the star and witness her transformation from early in her life to where she is now. The synopsis also teases that audiences will see Taylor learn “to embrace her role not only as a songwriter and performer but as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice.”
Look out for Taylor Swift: Miss America early in 2020, we’ll be sure to follow-up when an official debut date is announced.
