8. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas

Can you really have Christmas without Mickey? Never! Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas includes three different stories: Donald Duck Stuck on Christmas, A Very Goofy Christmas, and Minnie and Mickey’s Gift of the Magi.

In Donald Duck Stuck on Christmas, Huey, Dewey, and Louie wake up on Christmas morning and open their presents quickly, not even waiting for Daisy, their Uncle Scrooge, or their Aunt Gertie like they’re supposed to.

They then take their new sled from their Uncle Donald and run outside, only coming in for Christmas dinner. They go back to playing with their toys while the rest of their family sings carols. Then they go to bed and wish for Christmas every day, but the story really starts when they wake up in the morning.

Turns out, it’s Christmas again and their wish came true. They are so excited, but that excitement soon wains when they experience three days of the exact same thing. That’s when they decide to switch it up and change the day. This turns out even worse than the repetition and makes the holiday especially bad for Donald.

It takes time, but they finally read the card Donald included with the gift he gave them. It tells them how much he loves them and what the real meaning of Christmas is all about: family. The boys instantly feel guilty for everything they’ve done and decide to change their ways the next day which allows the time loop to finally break.

A Very Goofy Christmas begins with Goofy and Max mailing a letter to Santa. It’s all fun and games until their neighbor, Pete, tells Max that Santa doesn’t exist (rude). Goofy tries to make it all better by dressing up as Santa but unfortunately, Max finds out it’s his father and feels betrayed. Goofy, not willing to give up, stays up all night to wait for Santa, but ends up mistaking a robber for jolly old elf.

Goofy finally gives up his hope. Luckily, he raised his son right, and Max does everything Goofy did to make his father happy. But of course, the real Santa shows up and gives Max the present he was wishing for.

The final story is Mickey and Minnie’s Gift of the Magi and if you know the original Gift of the Magi, you pretty much know how this goes. Mickey gives up his harmonica to get money to buy Minnie a necklace and Minnie gives up her pendant to buy Mickey a harmonica case. And when they find out what they did for each other, they discover the true meaning of Christmas.
