12. The Santa Clause 2

After watching the first The Santa Clause (also on Disney Plus), why not keep going and watch the sequel?

In The Santa Clause 2, Santa is all set up at the North Pole and things are going great. That is until Bernard and Curtis, the keeper of the Handbook of Christmas (how do I get a copy of this?) inform him that he must marry in order to stay Santa. (What happened to the other Mrs. Clause when the first Santa died in the first movie? Did she die with him?)

But this isn’t the only bad news. It seems Charlie, Santa/Scott’s son is on the naughty list this year. So Santa must look for a wife and figure out what’s up with Charlie. To find a wife and not give away that he’s Santa right off the bat, he goes through a process where he turns back into the Scott Calvin from before.

On his return, he visits Charlie and finds that his son is vandalizing his school to get attention. While dealing with that, the toy Santa they put in place to fool the elves into thinking he wasn’t gone takes over the North Pole with giant toy soldiers and deems almost everyone bad. Luckily, Bernard catches on and puts this Santa under house arrest. Elves do not play.

Back in the non-magical world, Scott soon finds himself falling for Carol, but when he reveals who he is, she doesn’t believe him and tells him to leave. It’s extra difficult when Charlie tells him that it’s hard having a dad who’s not around a lot.

But Charlie’s little sister, Lucy, soon convinced him not to be upset with his father and then Charlie convinces Carol of who Scott really is.

With those problems dealt with, Scott must deal with the fake Santa back in the North Pole. Will the real Santa win the day? And will Carol agree to marry him and become Mrs. Clause? As this is a happy Christmas movie, you can probably guess.
