A list of 12 good Netflix movies and shows to watch this Thanksgiving weekend, including The Irishman, Christmas Movies, and more!

Happy Thanksgiving weekend! To help you find something to watch on Netflix, we picked 12 good Netflix movies and shows — 7 movies and five shows — to stream this weekend!

Below, we shared a list of the best Netflix movies and shows to watch this Thanksgiving weekend. Let’s get the list started with Netflix’s new movie, The Irishman!

Movie: The Irishman

The Irishman starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino is now on Netflix! The Oscar-contender directed by Martin Scorsese was added to the streaming service on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

It tells the story of Frank Sheeran, a hitman for the Bufalino crime family. He also had ties to Union leader Jimmy Hoffa. The film covers about three decades of Frank’s life.

The Irishman will be a huge hit for Netflix, and it could be Netflix’s best chance at the Best Picture Oscar since Roma, which should have won the award last year. Marriage Story, another Netflix original movie, will also be in the hunt.

Show: Merry Happy Whatever

Merry Happy Whatever is a new Netflix original series added to the streaming service on Thanksgiving day! It’s the first holiday-centric Netflix TV series so far (I believe!).

Dennis Quaid stars in the comedy series, along with Bridgit Mendler, Brent Morin, Ashley Tisdale, Hayes MacArthur, Adam Rose, and Siobhan Murphy. The series tells the story of the Quinn family over the holidays. After one of his daughters brings home her new boyfriend for the holidays, Mr. Quinn (Quaid) struggles to get into the holiday spirit.

It sounds like Merry Happy Whatever could be an anthology series with new seasons dropping during the holiday season every year at Netflix, according to Deadline.
