How to Get Away with Murder has always been filled with drama, but the season 6 midseason finale took the cake. Take a look at the top WTF moments.

How to Get Away with Murder is always filled with shocking reveals and loads of drama but they really brought out the big guns this week for the season 6 midseason finale. Main characters died, people came back from the dead, drugs were taken, and almost all the secrets were revealed. But there were a few moments that outdid the rest.

Let’s take a look at the top 5!

Laurel

This whole season one character has been missing from the show and that’s Laurel Castillo. At the end of last season, she went missing, but where she is or what happened to her has been a mystery up until this episode.

We still don’t know where she is, but based on her call with Michaela, she and her son are ok and it sounds like they are with her brother Xavier. But this isn’t what made this moment so shocking. It’s the fact that it appears Tegan is the one who helped her escape. We’ll have to wait until the show comes back to see if this is true and what exactly happened to Laurel.

Annalise and Nate

Annalise and Nate have been allies since season 1, but with everything that has happened and someone leaking all their secrets to the FBI, their relationship has finally broken. Nate shows up at Annalise’s apartment and threatens Annalise.

But Ms. Keating is not one to bow down to anyone. She picks up a fireplace poker and raises it at him. Even when Nate knocks it out of her hands, she’s ready to fight him if necessary. Luckily, Nate leaves before he lets out that side of himself. No one was hurt but it’s clear their relationship has reached its breaking point and there’s no coming back.

Who’s the mole?

The episode may have started off being about Connor, Michaela, and Asher finally graduating, it soon took a turn for the worst when all of their secrets came out. Someone leaked everything to the FBI and now all the murders they thought they had covered up are all over the news with Annalise being the main culprit.

But the question is: who leaked the information? Who went to the FBI? The answer: Asher. In a shocking turn of events, Asher, trying to save his mother from prison for his father’s crimes, told the FBI some of what he knew and recorded his conversations with his friends.

When they find out, the group does not take it well.

Asher’s dead

The twist around Asher’s death demonstrates what the How to Get Away with Murder writers do best. When Asher first revealed that he was the mole, Oliver hit him in the head with a fireplace poker. He went down, but he quickly got up. He bled a lot, but he seemed fine.

That soon changes when we see him die on the floor of what looks like stairwell outside Gabriel’s apartment. Did Gabriel kill him? Did Frank? Did Annalise? Or is it someone no one would expect?

Asher was the last person I expected to die this season so I cannot wait to see who did it and what comes next.

Wes Gibbons

This might be the most WTF moment the show has ever had (and that’s saying something. At the end of the episode, Annalise’s funeral is once again shown. As it looks like she got away safely, it’s probably a fake funeral, but that’s not the shocking part.

The camera pans through the crowd and who does it land on? Wes Gibbons! He supposedly died in season 3. I’m not going to lie, I actually gasped when I they showed his face. This makes me even more excited for the show to come back so we can find out how he’s alive and what his plans are. The show has never disappointed when it comes to a finale and they certainly didn’t with this one.

How to Get Away with Murder airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m. on ABC and will be back April 2.
