New Netflix movies and shows coming in December 2019: The Witcher, You season 2 and more

A list of the new Netflix movies and shows coming to the streaming service in December 2019, including The Witcher, Lost in Space season 2, You season 2, and more!

2019 is coming to end next month, and thankfully, Netflix has a great list of new movies and shows to help get us through the final month of the year.

Of all the Netflix new releases, The Witcher will probably be the biggest of the month. The upcoming fantasy series is a must-watch for fans of the genre and Game of Thrones fans who have been waiting for another big fantasy series. The Witcher as the potential to be just that.

The series is developed by Lauren Hissrich. It’s based on the stories and characters from Andrzej Sapkowski’s books. Henry Cavill stars a Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter, who meets two companions, Ciri (Freya Allan) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), in his travels.

Netflix also has some great new originals returning for their second seasons. Lost in Space season 2 premiered on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) and You season 2 premieres on Boxing Day (Dec. 26). These shows should be some of the most-watched on Netflix this year. I’m expecting huge viewership for both of them, especially You season 2.

V-Wars starring Ian Somerhalder is also going to be a big new series. It’s based on the graphic novels of the same name and tells the story of a world dealing with an outbreak of something that turns humans into vampires. The show hits Netflix on Thursday, Dec. 5.

On the TV side, you can also watch Outlander season 3 (Dec. 10) and The Magicians (Dec. 16) on the streaming service next month.

6 Underground starring Ryan Reynolds is coming to the streaming service on Dec. 13. If you like action movies, you’re going to love this new Netflix original film. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the Deadpool writers, wrote the screenplay for the film, and Michael Bay is directing. It’s going to funny, and there’s going to epic action sequences!

The film follows a group of vigilantes who try to take down some of the biggest criminals in the world who have skirted justice for far too long.

Mélanie Laurent, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Peyman Maadi, Adria Arjona, Corey Hawkins, Ben Hardy, and Dave Franco also star in the film.

We still have a few holiday titles coming in December, too. Most notably, A Christmas Prince 3, also known as A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby, arrives on Dec. 5. You have time to watch it like a hundred times if you want.
