Spider-Man MCU movies aren’t on Disney Plus: Where can you watch them?

Since the recent Spider-Man movies won’t be available on Disney Plus, fans are wondering where they can be streamed from. Continue reading for details on how to watch Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home online.

At a media event last week, Disney’s Ricky Strauss told the press in attendance that Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home would not be coming to Disney Plus, according to The Verge.

The decision isn’t personally motivated but rather due to Sony owning streaming rights. There’s a shared deal for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to appear in both the MCU and Sony’s Spider-Verse, though distribution rights apparently belong to Sony.

Because of that, fans hoping to binge through every MCU movie will have to search elsewhere for Spider-Man. You can still watch Avengers: Endgame, but Homecoming and FFH are off the menu. That being said, there are other options for viewing them.

Subscribers to cable and satellite providers that host FX Networks can watch Spider-Man: Homecoming on-demand or catch a scheduled viewing on the FX Movie channel, due to FX nabbing TV rights to Homecoming. Fortunately, the aforementioned movie can still be purchased from sites like iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, and Vudu.

As for Spider-Man: Far From Home, that’s a bit more complicated. The movie is quite recent so there are only a few methods for streaming. VOD services like Amazon offer digital purchases, though the easiest method for watching FFH is buying a physical copy from a retail store.

Eventually, Far From Home will be available to stream on Starz via the Sony-Starz output deal.

While those options are the only ones available for Far From Home at the moment, it’s safe to assume the Marvel movie will begin streaming on FX Networks sometime in the future. Our reasoning behind that conclusion is Homecoming airs regularly on FX. A new streaming deal could be worked out before then but odds are Sony and FX will agree on bringing FFH to their network.
