Klaus starring Jason Schwartzman, Rashida Jones, J.K. Simmons, Joan Cusack and more is coming to Netflix on Friday, Nov. 15. Will you be staying up to watch the film?
Thanksgiving hasn’t come yet, but Netflix is already releasing new Christmas movies. Klaus, a new animated Netflix original movie, is the next Christmas movie to watch this early holiday season.
With its excellent cast and interesting premise, Klaus is shaping up to be a big holiday movie for Netflix right up there with Christmas Chronicles starring Kurt Russell.
If you’re interested in watching Klaus, you can watch the film on Friday, Nov. 15. This animated movie is scheduled to be released at 12:01 a.m. PT on Friday. If you’re as excited about this Netflix original holiday story as we are, just stay up late Thursday night and you can stream Klaus as soon as it is released exclusively on Netflix.
Klaus is directed by Sergio Pablos of Despicable Me fame and written by Zack Lewis and Jim Mahoney.
Here is the synopsis of the film, via Netflix:
"When Jesper (Jason Schwartzman) distinguishes himself as the postal academy’s worst student, he is stationed on a frozen island above the Arctic Circle, where the feuding locals hardly exchange words let alone letters. Jesper is about to give up when he finds an ally in local teacher Alva (Rashida Jones) and discovers Klaus (Oscar winner J.K. Simmons), a mysterious carpenter who lives alone in a cabin full of handmade toys. These unlikely friendships return laughter to Smeerensburg, forging a new legacy of generous neighbors, magical lore and stockings hung by the chimney with care."
According to Netflix, Rashida Jones, Joan Cusack, J.K. Simmons, Jason Schwartzman, and Will Sasso will be providing the voices to the main characters in the film. Klaus is also including the talents of Mila Brener, Teddy Blum, Julian Zane, Emma Shannon, Sydney Brower, and Tucker Meek to round out the stellar voice cast.
Check out the trailer for Klaus below.
This isn’t the first time Jones and Schwartzman have worked together in a Netflix Christmas film. Both of the wonderful stars appeared in Netflix’s A Very Murray Christmas in 2015.
Klaus is a must-see Christmas movie this holiday season, not only because of the great cast, but also because it’s a refreshing holiday story. Klaus delves into the origins of Santa Claus, so it’s a little bit different than most of the Christmas movies.
I’m excited about Klaus and will be watching it when it streams on Friday, Nov. 15. There are more Netflix original holiday movies on the way after Klaus, starting with A Knight before Christmas on Thursday, Nov. 21.
