The Walking Dead’s Christian Serratos to star in Netflix’s Selena: The Series

Christian Serratos, best known for her role in The Walking Dead, will star as Selena Quintanilla in the upcoming Netflix original series Selena: The Series. Netflix announced the news in a new video.

Netflix has found its star for the upcoming original series Selena: The Series. Christian Serratos, who stars in The Walking Dead, will play Selena Quintanilla in the Netflix original series about the life of the legendary singer.

The streaming network announced the news earlier Tuesday morning on social media with a video announcement. The video features Serratos, as the iconic singer, as she travels to set for a day of filming the new series.

In the video, Netflix announced the series will be released sometime in 2020. We don’t know the exact release date yet, but we’ll likely find out in the next few months!

The series tells the story of the life of Selena Quintanilla, who was a legend in the music industry before she was murdered by a business associate when she was only 23 years old.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Netflix announced the rest of the cast for Selena, as well. Richard Chavira, Gabriel Chavarria, Noemi Gonzalez, Seidy Lopez, and Madison Taylor Baez have joined the cast of the series.

According to a report from Vulture, the series will be split into two parts. The first part will arrive in 2020.

EW is reporting the series will consist of six episodes. It’s unclear if that means the show will have two, three-episode parts of it that was just a typo and each part consists of six episodes each. We’ll try to find more information about that soon.
