17. A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish

Did you know they were still making films based off the Hilary Duff film A Cinderella Story? Neither did I, but the latest of the Cinderella Story movies takes place during Christmas and is called A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish.

The movie follows Kat Emerson, an aspiring singer-songwriter who has big dreams but with a stepmother and two stepsisters who treat her like a servant, she doesn’t know how she’ll be able to get out from under them in order to become a singer.

But if she thought the jobs she does at home were bad, her job as a singing elf is worse. She gets the job at the billionaire Terrence Wintergarden’s Santa Land. The only good part of the job? Nick, the oddly handsome Santa who works at the tree lot (there’s no way he’s fooling any little kids. His beard looks very fake).

Nick also invites her to the party of the year, the Wintergarden Christmas Gala. But when her family founds out, they do everything they can to stop her from going. They don’t want her to outshine them. Will she make it or end up stuck at home?

Luckily, she has a loyal best friend, a good dog, and a little Christmas magic on her side. This is Cinderella after all. She’s making it to that gala no matter what.

A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish stars Laura Marano, Gregg Sulkin, Isabella Gomez, Barclay Hope, and Garfield Wilson, and features a bunch of original music as well as some favorite holiday songs.
