2. The Knight Before Christmas
If you loved Vanessa Hudgens in The Princess Switch, you’ll probably love her in her new holiday film, The Knight Before Christmas. But instead of finding a doppelgänger of herself, she meets a medieval knight who time travels to the present day where he meets and falls in love with her character. In this film, she plays a high school science teacher who has given up on love.
Along with Vanessa Hudgens, the film stars Josh Whitehouse, Emmanuelle Chiriqui, Harry Jarvis, and Ella Kenion.
How does a medieval knight get to the 21st century? Good question. Turns out, a sorceress sends him,(his name is Sir Cole), to present-day Ohio during the holiday season. Confused and lost, he meets Brooke who helps him navigate the modern world and helps him to achieve his “one true quest” that he must finish before he can go back to his time.
But, as you may have already guessed, Sir Cole and Brooke soon find themselves caring for each other and he no longer wants to go back. You’ll have to watch and see if he can fulfill his quest and stick around, if she’ll need to go back in time with him for them to be together, or if the couple is not destined to be together. Although, that would probably spoil the holiday.
If this is the beginning of Vanessa Hudgens career in all the cute, romantic holiday movies, I am all for it. They might be a little cheesy, but they get you in the holiday spirit and aren’t as depressing as It’s A Wonderful Life.
