4. Klaus
If you’re looking for an animated holiday movie, Klaus is what you want. The movie features voices from Jason Schwartzman, Rashida Jones, Joan Cusack, and J.K. Simmons.
The story follows Jesper who receives the distinction of being the postal academy’s worst student and because of this, he is sent to a frozen circle near the Arctic Circle called Smeerensberg. But while you might think he’s going be isolated and lonely there, he is anything but. He finds that the locals are feuding and don’t speak or exchange letters. This means he has nothing to deliver.
He tries to figure out a way to get them to interact and when he is just about to give up, he finds a friend in a local teacher named Alva and a carpenter named Klaus (who just so happens to live in a cabin filled with toys…).
Together, they work to return joy, fun, and laughter to Smeerensburg, bring the neighbors together to help them get over their feuds, and start the magical (and somewhat familiar) tradition of hanging stockings by the chimney with care.
As you can probably guess, Klaus is Santa hiding out in this frozen place. And when Jesper realizes who he is, he knows he must enlist him to help make the town happy and joyful again. With the help of a few good deeds and a couple of gifts, they are able to bring the town into the Christmas spirit.
You can check out this cute animated holiday movie when it comes to Netflix on Nov 15.
