12. Christmas Survival

Going home for Christmas is hard enough, but it can become even more difficult when you’re going to stay at a place your parents used to live before they passed away. That is the premise of Christmas Survival.

Two sisters along with their families go back to their late parents’ old country home and old rivalries are ignited once again. And what you might think would be a sad event turns into a hilarious, chaotic holiday family reunion.

How bad could it be? The police get called, the turkey gets hacked at and then put in an oven in the middle of the yard, family members get slapped and punched, and lots and lots of alcohol is imbibed. It is utterly delightful!

The holidays never end up how we expect and that was never truer than in this movie. There’s yelling, scorched food, chasing after a turkey in hopes of making it the Christmas dinner, and even a fire in the bed! What more could you want from one film? If nothing else, it will make you laugh at all the shenanigans this family gets up to.

If you’ve watched any British television or films, you’ll probably know at least a couple of the actors in this movie. It stars Julian Overden, Gemma Whelan, Joely Richardsom, Michael Landes, Sally Phillips, Patricia Hodge, Ronni Ancona, and James Fox.

If you need a good laugh around the holidays or are looking for a film that looks maybe a bit like your family around the holidays, Christmas Survival is a must watch!
